Saying No With Confidence
Did you say yes again to the “small” requests that now take up so much time that you have none left for your own projects?
Did you fail to speak up against discriminatory comments because you felt frozen?
Did you later feel annoyed that you didn't respond appropriately to boundary violations and intrusiveness?
Female socialization is a program that puts the needs and well-being of others first. Unfortunately, this often results in an imbalance when it comes to representing one's own goals, values, and boundaries. To restore balance, we will train our ability to say no in many exercises. Physical practice and feeling are central to this, because patriarchy is deeply ingrained in us. Learning processes that remain at the level of
awareness are usually not enough to bring about change.
Would you like to...
- connect with your values and the yes that is important to you?
- find a supportive body posture for a strong no?
- learn effective strategies for intervention?
- say no calmly and clearly without justification or anger?
