Third-Party Funding as a Career Lever for Female Researchers

In academia, securing third-party funding is crucial for one’s research and career development. However, submitting a successful proposal is complex—from choosing the right funding strategy to crafting a convincing application. This workshop is specifically designed for women researchers and offers hands-on support in developing their own funding ideas.

The workshop covers the following topics:

  • Basics and logics of the third-party funding system
  • Strategic selection of suitable funding agencies and formats
  • Developing a personal third-party funding strategy
  • The proposal as a distinct genre of academic writing
  • Arguing convincingly and writing clearly
  • The review process from a reviewer’s perspective
  • Dealing with CV gaps and caregiving responsibilities (e.g., parental leave, gender citation gap)
