Negotiating as a Woman: Overcoming Challenges and Becoming More Effective in Your Negotiations

Overview:

Most academics negotiate several times a day. For women in academia, these negotiations can be more challenging, as societal expectations around female negotiators may hinder both their performance and outcomes. This workshop focuses on how women in academia can address these challenges and learn to negotiate more successfully. The workshop combines practical exercises, reflection, and evidence-based theory, offering participants insight into the potential obstacles they may face in negotiations and strategies to overcome them. Participants will also develop skills for creating and claiming value in negotiations. To ensure a smooth transition of these skills from the workshop context to their everyday lives, they will engage in exercises that reflect the specific challenges they encounter in their daily work.
